Hello All,
Our names are James McLoughlin and Kyra Ritz, we’re members currently serving with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC). AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, team-based residential program for men and women age 18-24. AmeriCorps NCCC strengthens communities and develops leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. In partnership with non-profits—secular and faith based—local municipalities, state governments, federal government, national and state parks, Indian tribes, and schools, members complete service projects. My partner and I are currently working with the Flint Housing Commission remodeling apartments for new fixed income tenants.
NCCC members in the past have tutored students, constructed low-income housing, built and repaired trails, completed weatherization projects, managed community volunteers, and worked on disaster prevention, relief and recovery projects.
If you feel that your organization or an organization that you know of that could benefit from the services of an AmeriCorps NCCC team, or if you and your organization would like to learn more about how an AmeriCorps team could benefit you, join us for our Open House! On September 9th, from 5 – 7pm we will be holding an Open House event. We want to provide you and your organization more information and a chance to talk with corps members and actual sponsors so that you may get the full feel of our program and what it can do for you. Please don’t feel obligated to attend the entire event this is meant to be a walk in when available event.
Knowing that Flint is a target city for National Service we are aware that there are several other national service members and alums throughout the city and surrounding communities and we would like to extend our invitation to any of those members that may be receiving this email.
Thank you for your time,
Kyra Ritz
